The aptly named "King of the Hill" was built from the model years 1990 to 1995. Engineered as the "ultimate" Corvette, only 6939 ZR-1s were ever manufactured. GM's goal was to produce a "world class" sports car with the very best price:performance ratio. At the heart of the ZR-1 is the LT5 engine... an all aluminum engineering marvel with dual overhead cams, 16 fuel injectors and twice that many valves. The power and sound of this marvelous powerplant is an experience not soon forgotten. The LT5 series engine has proven to be powerful, rugged, and highly reliable both on the track and the street.
