At first glance and even upon closer inspection, this fabulous Corvette appears to be a 2001 Z06 performance hardtop with the addition of strikingly beautiful chromed wheels. It has all the tell-tale marks of a Z06... the functional side scoops to cool the rear brakes, the Z06 emblems and front grilles, Z06 seats, chrome exhaust tips, even red fuel rail covers on the engine making it externally nearly identical to the Z06's LS6 monster motor. But this is, in fact, an extremely well done conversion of a 1999 hardtop model. All the pizzazz of a Z06 without the demands of an ultra-high performance sports car. The 345HP LS1 engine is certainly no slouch, however, and wrapped around it is one of the cleanest Corvette bodies around. If you like the looks of the Z06 but wish to avoid the sticker shock they often demand, this awesome Corvette is the one. |
